Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 August 2026

This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information when you use this website. We are the agency behind this site, so we are responsible for the information collected here — there is no client sitting between you and us.

1. Who we are

This site is operated by Burgs Digital, trading as Reel Estate, a social media marketing agency based in New Zealand. Under the Privacy Act 2020 we are the agency that holds the personal information described in this policy.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers reel-estate.online and the enquiry forms on it. It does not cover other websites we link to, including our parent site burgsdigital.com, or the social media platforms our work appears on. Those services have their own privacy policies.

3. What we collect

Information you give us. When you submit the contact form on our home page or contact page, we collect your name and email address, and your phone number and message if you choose to provide them. We also record which page you submitted the form from, so we know where the enquiry came from.

Information collected automatically. When you submit a form we record your IP address and browser user-agent string alongside the enquiry. We use this to identify and block automated spam submissions. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs of requests to this site.

The form on our Reach page. The lead capture form on the Reach page is a Typeform embed, not our own form. Anything you enter there is collected by Typeform and passed to us — it does not travel through the system described above. Typeform's own privacy terms apply in addition to this policy.

We do not collect payment details through this website, and we do not ask for information about your health, ethnicity, or other sensitive categories.

4. Cookies and tracking

This site does not use analytics or advertising cookies. We do not run Google Analytics, and there is no advertising or tracking pixel on this site. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies for security and bot detection; these do not track you across other websites. The Typeform embed on the Reach page may set its own cookies when you interact with it.

5. Why we collect it and what we do with it

We collect this information for a lawful purpose connected with our business: responding to enquiries and providing marketing services. We use it to:

We do not sell your personal information. We will not add you to a marketing list from a website enquiry without telling you, and we do not share enquiry details with real estate agencies or other third parties for their own marketing.

6. Providing your information is voluntary

You do not have to give us any of this information. If you do not give us your name and email address we cannot respond to your enquiry, which is the only consequence of not providing it. You are always welcome to phone or email us directly instead of using a form.

7. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run this website and handle enquiries. They may access personal information only to provide those services to us:

We may also disclose personal information where we are required or authorised to by law, or where it is necessary to protect our legal rights.

8. Where your information is stored

The providers listed above are based outside New Zealand and store and process information on overseas servers, including in the United States and Europe. As required by information privacy principle 12 of the Privacy Act 2020, we take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that these providers are subject to safeguards comparable to those in the Act before sending personal information to them.

9. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for as long as we need them for the purpose they were collected — responding to you and, if you become a client, providing our services — and then for as long as we are required to keep business and tax records, generally seven years. We do not keep personal information for longer than we need it.

10. Keeping it secure

Enquiries are transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and stored in an access-controlled database. Access is limited to the people in our team who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if a privacy breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm.

11. Accessing and correcting your information

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Email [email protected] and we will respond as soon as we can, and within 20 working days. There is no charge for making a request. You can also ask us to delete an enquiry, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

12. Complaints

If you are not happy with how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can try to put it right. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner:

13. Children

Our services are aimed at real estate professionals and businesses. This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change to how we handle personal information, we will make that clear on this page.

15. Contact us
